got the car back have a engine knock issue on the laptop. possibly from bad fuel. so i brought it back home and dumped the fuel tank out putting fresh 91 octane in it and going to put it on a good friends dyno and have the tuner come read it and see.

changing the oil before hand and cutting the oil filter apart. because i know this engine didnt have a physical engine knock when i put it in the car. may just be caused the solid motor mounts.

    well little update,
put the car back on the dyno still have a knock issue. i believe it not a physical engine knock. so as of now haven't gotten the car back to Laramie to get the tune figured out. did get the the knock sensors replaced. also going to install more braces on the turbo mount to help secure it to the frame as its vibrating excessively.   so once that is all done hopefully all the cosmic repairs can start on this car.

i am currently in process of buying a full on drag car so this car will not be going under the knife for a back half kit.  now i will truly be able enjoy driving it and making it look just as nice an clean as it sounds.

been told that stock lq4 truck injector wont work on this intake. they protrude the same depth as the holley "low impedance" injectors do. These spacers should work just fine.

maybe this weekend ill get the intake swapped weather permitting

well after a week of issues putting the intake on. turns out that it is not designed for the 4.8-5.3 truck accessories and we had to come up with a "never been done before" fix since im not spending $600+ on ls1 water pump/pulleys alternator and power steering.

initally the throttle body hit the ilder pulley. now with 1" spacers in place i have plenty of the pulley but i had to order a wedge throttle body spacer to bring the angle up to clear the exhaust cross over

took advantage of my extended weekend and thanksgiving to get the car finished up. Was able to get the bov installed and fab up a catch can out of some old 3.5" charge piping so now the car is honestly done with modifications. Once its tuned i will be able to just fix little odds and ends things. The intake/charge piping and fuel system hard parts changing should be all finished "knock on wood"

This week sometime i'm taking it to get the tune finished so well see how it goes

Hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving!!

i'll probably make a whole new post about this later.

Really like these led's because they have a high/low function on the low beam light that actually works with the cars factory wiring so NO splicing of any kind.

    low beam comparison:

    Both Low Beams:

    Vision X Replacement lenses:

Like i said these are a non diffused lens so they will put out more use able light at a father distance than factory lens will

High beam fuction: You cant see it very well but the back wall above the selves is lit up enough you can read the box, pain can and other tags easily

    little update

got a call Sunday that the car blew out an exhaust manifold gasket. and was literally burning through plug wires

went to Laramie and helped swap gaskets and plug wires. Gave them some fuel line wrap and we wrapped all the wires were they were hitting the header wrap. Asked how it was going other than that and they said well.. its hitting 20+ psi of boost and the waste gate isn't opening and the brand new map sensor only reads 105 kpa max (5 psi).   So called it quits for the night. They road tested it Monday and its drive able, just need to get the new map and figure out the gate and we can finish the WOT runs. But in-climate weather was coming in as of Wed night so went an picked up the car Monday evening.

Drove it to work Tues and Wed. Car has a hot restart issue but that's an easy fix. Called the Map sensor company they are sending me a replacement map sensor. Once that gets in well put it on good friend of ours local dyno here in town and my tuner is going to come down and get it all finished so i don't have to take it back over there.

Ordered a new cast aluminum transmission pan, then a locking flexible dipstick for the transmission from lokar to fix the transmission leaks.  also ordered coil bracket relocation kits and extension harness. going to be putting the coils on the engine block

Will say this  SUM-BEETCH HAULS the F-N MAIL when it hits boost. cheers Twisted Evil Twisted Evil  it goes from 5 psi to 25psi+ in about 2 seconds if your are not careful with the throttle pedal!   makes about 7psi at 3000rpm. but now its getting the 4:10 swap sooner than later. Doesnt really like the stop light to stop light driving, and i dont want to flash the converter

But so far the best part of all i got to suprise my little girl Wed when i picked her up from school in it! Made her day to say the least.

Now with 3" of snow on the ground and no garage to put it in it may not be till next week when i get to work on it again so ill keep everything updated

ALSO HUGE SHOUT OUT TO SWEET SEVENTY9 he got me a good 77 impala tail light, headlight bucket, front corner fender housing, nos front turn signal housings and a set of good door hinges for the car!

Just want to say thank you for what you do, because without you i couldn't get this thing anywhere near my goal!!
